I had lunch and dinner at Oliva Enoteca yesterday. It is such a great restaurant and could be your favorite place any where in the world. I have a hard time ordering octopus these days but it is the very best thing on the menu. It is grilled and served with a fried chaya leaf on roasted potato with a spicy pepper sauce on the side. My favorite pasta, cacio e pepe is no longer on the menu but the chef told me it will be back this winter. In the meantime I have the Diavolo Mia, linguini in spicy tomato sauce with grilled shrimp. The seafood pasta Mora al Mare is also great. Yesterday I had the gnocchi with mushrooms and hazelnuts and my friend had the Trofie Al Pesto a hand made pasta with the classic pesto and crab sprinkled on top. I almost always have the Campanola salad with mixed greens, gorgonzola, pears and candied walnuts or one of the excellent burratas. Yesterday I remembered to have the smoked provolone that is roasted and served hot on a bed of tomato sauce but I forgot to photograph it. As usual I prefer to order from the appetizer side of the menu as everything there is small and packed with flavor.
I´ll take better photos soon… I couldn´t focus the food was so good.
